I will be volunteering six weeks at Kapsowar Hospital in a remote, equatorial, and mountainous region of Kenya. Kapsowar Hospital is a small, 130 bed facility that provides the majority of inpatient and outpatient maternal, pediatric, medical, surgical, and dental care in the region. It is staffed by a mixture of locally trained Kenyan, and international volunteer medical professionals. Along with its partners Africa Inland Mission, and World Medical Mission, the Hospital has a strong interest in training and mentoring local, Kenyan staff, including nurses and doctors, in hopes of furthering medical capacity within the local community.
I am excited to partner with Kapsowar Hospital in providing quality medical care to the peoples of this remote region, as well as mentoring a new generation of medical professionals. I covet your prayerful support as I encounter a new practice climate, exposure to unfamiliar medical conditions, language barriers, culture shock stressors, and finding a balance between practice humility and confidence.
World Medical Mission—a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse—places volunteer Evangelical Christian physicians, dentists, and other medical personnel in short and long-term (self-supporting) service at mission hospitals and clinics around the world. I take great delight in God's economy and all of our unique participation it; if you have a specific call on your heart to financially support this endeavour or the related organizations, please feel free to donate on this page.
