Help Bring Safe, Affordable Water to 44 Families in Maraigushu.
Imagine spending hours every day walking long distances just to buy water at predatory prices—and still not having enough for your family’s basic needs. This is the reality for 44 families in Maraigushu, a hilly community that has been water-insecure for years.
The Problem:
Women and children bear the burden, losing valuable time that could be spent on education, work, or family care.
The community sits above the catchment area making piped water prohibitively expensive.
Current water vendors exploit this vulnerability, charging prices that families simply cannot afford.
Our Solution:
We aim to break this cycle of water poverty by:
1. Drilling a borehole up the hill to access a reliable water source.
2. Installing a high-capacity tank at the hilltop to gravity-feed water to homes below.
3. Powering the system with solar pumps for sustainability and zero reliance on costly electricity.
